“I cannot teach anybody anything; I can only make them think.”
Socrates
Since 2025 I teach physics at the Physics Department of Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (Maître de conférences) and give some lectures at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon — and it is one of the great pleasures of my work.
I love sharing my passion for physics, and just as much, I love handing students the tools and the opportunities to understand the world and to play with it.
In the age of AI, learning things for the sake of learning them has lost much of its value. But learning itself has never been more interesting. Facts are everywhere and cheap; understanding is not. What I want to give my students is not information to memorize, but the means to explore, to question, and to take genuine pleasure in the world of physics and chemistry.
My teaching spans the full range: from foundational physics for 1st year medical students, to training at the ENS preparing students for the International Physicists' Tournament, advanced master lectures on interfaces, (photo)electrochemistry, batteries and nanomaterials, to PhD training in the lab. From the basics to the state of the art.
And it is all connected. I care deeply about crosslinking ideas and building bridges between topics because that is where science stops being a list of chapters and starts becoming a way of seeing the world.
